This is a good one that I have never heard. Yes, I think I become more receptive than active in terms of my attitude. Perhaps being actively receptive is rather accurate way to out it – you know, when I am in a foreign soil, I need to use all my senses more and keep them keen to, for one, absorb & learn different things. And for two, not miss something. Speaking takes a lot of neural output that it makes sense to be quiet so that one can use that energy in taking things in.
