Our last full day in Japan
We woke up to a rainy morning in our friend’s house in Takasu . After a hearty breakfast we finally managed to leave the house to drive to Fukuoka to visit the local aquarium.
This is the best aquarium I have ever been to – it has giant turtles, sharks, big mantas, and so many other things. There is also a dolphin and sea lion show. It is well worth a visit (1900 yen per person).

We went back to my friends’ house to be greeted by our friend Yoshiko. She gave us one final tour for shopping, we visited the Sangyoikadaigaku Hospital where our son was born, and we also tried to look up another long-lost friend.

The rest of the evening we spent packing for our very early flight – departure at 7:10 a.m. from Fukuoka to Narita airport.
Our friends, Yuko and Akihisa Fujita, took very good care of us.
