Schweinfurt – Stadtgalerie and Museum
I had been busy reporting about the MyZeil Shopping Center in Frankfurt, when on the very same day – namely 26 Feb – the very first shopping mail in Schweinfurt opened its doors, unbeknownst to me.
It is huge for Franconian standards and filled with mostly chain-operating stores. On Friday it was packed as the weather was bad, and therefore it attracted many visitors and shoppers to this new fancy indoor shopping experience. The locals are rather proud of this new era, and I saw some fair amount of money being spent there, despite the high unemployment and reduced working hours in this industrial town.

Last, but not least, the local museum George Schäfer has gotten some good reviews. As a matter of fact, I have talked to people from the Frankfurt area who mentioned this museum is definitely worth a visit.

It is fair to say that Schweinfurt still has very moderate prices when it comes to parking fees, accommodations, eating out, etc. South of Schweinfurt, there are the famous Franconian vinyards with many quaint wine-tasting places, festivals, and vinyard walking tours.

Ну это Вы перегибаете палку. Не согласен, не может такого быть, не можем мы такого допустить. Прямо буря в душе поднялась. Вчера читал об участившихся катастрофах авиалайнеров, пишут что сейчас в 12 раз чаще падают чем 20 лет назад. Говорят, что виной всему машины, и компьютеры, конечно, тоже, но мне кажется, что и летали раньше по другому реже я имею в виду. Т.е статистика перевирает или репортеры от себя что-то добавили.

Nice to be reminded of home. I love the architecture of the Georg Schaefer Museum. And I guess the new Stadtgallerie is something to look forward to on my next trip to Germany.
I just came back from a visit to Portland, Oregon – the city and its surroundings reminded me a lot of Germany. California (where I live) is so bright – it’s such a different light and feel in Germany and Portland, OR

Здраствуйте, многоуважаемые пользователи данного блога, которые собрались тут с той же целью что и я. Облазив десятки сайтов на подобные тематики – я решил остановить свой выбор именно на этом блоге, т.к. считаю его наиболее компетентным и полезным для людей, предпочитающих данную тематику. I agree completely, its no wonder people just dont get it. In this day and age its imperative.
