New Year’s Eve in Germany

This is to wish all my readers:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Germany is covered in snow and parking spots are becoming scarce due to the many roadside snow piles. It is best for us to stay home on New Year’s Eve and watch this all-time favorite Silvester (New Year’s Eve) program.

This comedy show appeals mostly to Germans (so I have been told). Therefore, in my family, I am usually the only one laughing…

    I don’t know it about appealing only to the Germans, but certainly no-one in our families had ever heard of “Dinner for One” until we recorded it here and sent copies back to the UK.

    We enjoy it immensely, but after 30+ years here, it could be that we have been “contaminated” by the local culture 😉

    You probably have been contaminated by now, after so many years in Germany !!

    I have also seen the Hessian version and the Bavarian version of it, but the original one is the best. Heard one of the channels showed the original one in colour two days ago! I’d probably prefer the black and white version as usual:-)
