Few London Pickpockets turn Putpockets
London has a problem with pickpockets just like any other metropolitan city. But I have just read some joyous news including a new twist to this problem: Instead of 20 active pickpockets being on the loose, the same former pickpockets are roaming the streets and putting money, anywhere from 5-pound to 20-pound notes, into people’s pockets and handbags.
This initiative will run in London till the end of this month, so hang out at Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, or any other popular spot, and you might just get lucky. Of course, it helps if you do not look affluent as the broadband provider intended this money to be given to needy people during this economic crisis.
This act of kindness is a great idea and will not only benefit some individuals, but also London’s image as well. And it might set a good example for some pickpocket-ridden cities such as Rome, Florence, Barcelona, etc.

There used to be a sign in Bond Street tube station saying “Pickpockets operate in this station”, or something to that effect.
Apparently, the pickpockets used to hang around the sign, because when travellers saw it, they instinctively tapped their wallet to make sure that it was still there, giving away its location at the same time and making them easy targets!
I wonder if the putpockets are using the same tricks?
